After updating to 4.0-a15 (OnePlus 8 Pro), applications that use WebView no longer work. Is there a way to fix this?

Rooting mostly refers to installing Magisk or similar tweaks, or only in a context when using ADB also to enabling Settings - System - Developer options - Rooted debugging (if even available).

If you didn’t do either of those things, you are not rooted.
If you enabled Rooted debugging, you are not rooted in general, but you can use ADB as root.

The update went smoothly.
Everything works just as well as it did before the update. In other words, everything is running perfectly, with the exception of the S-pushTAN app (Sparkasse s_push).

I have no idea what is going on. I tried to get some log files to see if I can find some hints what is wrong.

As soon as I turn on USB debugging and run adb logcat the issue is not appearing anymore. Sometimes even for some time after disconnecting and turning debugging off

Edit: apparebtly turning USB debugging on without actually connecting does not help…

Hello,

I have a Samsung S9 plus running 3.7.3 and I got informed that the update to 4 is available. When I press on download I get a warning that my phone will have to be factory reset in order to apply the update and that all data on the phone will be lost. This is due to a change in file system. Is it correct that I have to wipe my entire phone to get to 4,0?

Yes you would want to ensure a good backup How to Backup and Restore your /e/OS phone before this upgrade should be applied. The same warning about this change appears in recent weekly-updates.

The only issue I have found so far is that curve NFC payments have stopped working. No error, just not detected.

Problem with FP3+ after upgrading to 4.0:
When updating or installing Apps in AppLounge, the download indicator stays on 0% forever..
As a workaround I installed Aurora Store, which works without problems

Thank you for the hint, but even after deleting memory and cache, unticking “unmetered networks” and a restart it still does not work. There was absolutely no such problem with versions 3.X

I updated to 4.0 with the fp6. All PWA and web links gone :scream:.

Thats very unfortunate. I had a lot, they where like important bookmarks also

On the good side, on my Fairphone 6 fast charging, that was broken in the previous version, is now working perfectly.

eSIM installation (Mint Mobile) is failing on /e/OS 4.0-a16-20260611633938-community-caiman (Pixel 9 Pro). I have installed an eSIM on this device before, when it was running a previous (3.x) version of /e/OS.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

The built-in UnifiedPush (foundation.e.ntfy) service is no longer working. It worked for about 7 days after updating to 4.0 with FMD, but it hasn’t been working since yesterday. Both apps can no longer find the UnifiedPush provider. Restarting doesn’t help.
Since UP-Example doesn’t work either, I tested it with Sunup and io.heckel.ntfy. Both FMD and UP-Example work with these. With a second FP5, the integrated version also stops working.

Any tips or advice on how to solve this problem are very welcome.

System preforms fine except thebapp lounge.

  1. I loged out waited two hours ,vhen retry → unable to upgrade apps. Stock at 0%
  2. Clear storage of the app.
  3. Logged in with my gmail → unable to upgrade
  4. Cleared app storage again
  5. Created new google account → still no upgrade
