I have the same problem with my FP4. The phone ran quite hot, while the 5G signal was weak. And the battery drain was really fast. 15% in 30 minutes Not using the phone.
Additional feedback for Teracube 2e emerald: in 3-button navigation mode, the home button does not do anything in the overview/exposé and widget screens. I switched to gesture mode to get a working setup.

Installation OTA went fine. Sending emails works now, receiving did work before. Everything else seems to work fine, but Maps freezees more often then not, when starting the app. It gets sticky occasionally when using it. But otherwise no problems. Thank you!
are you sure, that the update from //e/OS on FP 6.Gen. 4.1.1 to 4.2 run fine on the device, and you have no issues with your fingerprints?
I think so. At least I haven’t noticed anything negative. I’ve been having problems with the fingerprint sensor ever since I got the FP6 (February 2026, running e/os/ 3.x). The fingerprint is often recognized poorly or sometimes not at all, but only when unlocking the device. When using it to log in to apps, it works perfectly.

Update went smooth.
Same bugs as in 4.1.1:
- bluetooth HID profile unavailable (it was working in 3.7.3)
- Bliss launcher background not behaving consistently in the bottom bar. One nice addition to bliss launcher would be enabling the 180° rotation if the 180° rotation is enabled in the settings, as currently it is very inconvenient to move from one app to the other when the phone is upside down.
For the rest all very good!
EDIT: The bluetooth HID profile can be reenabled by switching the property bluetooth.profile.hid.device.enabled to true. If you have Magisk, you can use the MagiskHide Props Config module to edit the property and restore the functionality.

Similar to my journey with v3.4 breaking USB file sharing, the USB file sharing feature is working poorly. It’s hard to get a good diagnosis, but I can connect the phone to my computer by USB and enable file sharing. I can see and access files on the device. But when I run my script to sync the phone, it slows to a crawl and throws I/O errors. The script worked perfectly fine this morning on 4.1.1. I tried revoking USB debug privileges in developer settings, and rebooted the device.

Is there going to be a 4.2 community build for Android 16 on Fairphone 4?
The builds page for it has 4.2 builds for Android 15 and 14, but 16 is still at 4.1.1?

Since 4.0, one day the earphones stopped working : when I plug the cable, norhing happens.
Then it worked a couple of months and then stopped again.
Could it be a software problem ? I hope.so…

I have several issues with the A16 4.2 official build on Fairphone 6:
- App Lounge installs apps very slooooowly
- Android setting Privacy Dashboard crashes when opening app list for some priviliges, i.e. call list
- NFC-Payment via Curve not possible
- Apps take a lot of time to open when started, i.e. Prime Video
- Buying movies in Prime Video not possible any more, even if App Tracker is disabled
- Many apps don’t start at all ot freeze when login is performed, i.e. Miles car sharing app
- Hardware switch not working properly when phone is locked
Hope that most important issues are fixed with 4.3.

There are some issues:
Using the hawao as hotspot is not possible. The switch in settings jumps back directy with the message “fout” (error).
Acoording to earlier remarks this may occur when securety for wifi is set to “wpa2/wpa3” and can be circumvented by setting this to “wpa2” only. However it is not possible to set this to anything else than “wpa2/wpa3” . The action is entirely ignored., just as changing any of the options on that screen.
On the screen for speed and compatibility, the option for wifi on 5 GHz is grayed out.
I discovered that the hotspot was not working during my holiday, but did not have the time to investigate it any further at the time. The version of /e/ then must have been 3.0.4-t-20250710507811-community-hawao. Target thereafter was 3.6-A16 by download and install from SD-card.
I hope it is possrble for the team to look into this.

Previous issue in v4.1 when the phone kept requesting the account to authenticate is now fixed.
I had my Gigaset GS6 Pro switch itself off on its own a moment ago… battery 90%+, just put it on a table, when picked it up to check something and pressed power button to wake it up the Murena start up screen came up and it was just switching on with SIM PIN request.
It had never happened on v.4.0 or v.4.1.1
Not nice.
Exactly the same here with my FP6. And streams are offen interrupted. I am using e/os now for a year and it worked fine until 4.1.1. / A16. 4.2 hasn’t helped. Now I hope for e/os 4.3…

Although in account sync it reads sync worked but on server in fact data is not synced.

Tapping on calendar and tasks notification removes the notification but does not open the event/task.

I guess that the zero byte upload issue to Murena cloud is still there as well because I did not read about a fix any time. But I did not test it.
Notes issue for me is the worst. I just recently redid a backup and restore manually after a reset to fix that because they are very important to me. That was quite some time because of renaming and deleting doubles.
I would really appreciate having the basics working reliably. Since the great server failure my trust in the project is still somewhat damaged. This also holds me back subscribing to and suggesting bigger plans to others.

Hi,
I bought a used Gigaset GS6 and successfully installed /e/OS 4.0 on it.
My problem is that since version 4.1, double tap to wake no longer works. Double tapping the screen to put the phone into standby still works perfectly fine.
Lifting the phone to wake it up also works, but this is not an alternative to double tapping the screen.
