No great loss, it was a tired old phone anyway. It was the cheapest thing I could find to try /e/os. Wanted to try it first on something throwaway in case I didn’t like it. I was pretty quickly sold on the idea. I want a better phone now.
I’m finding I might be able to get by on all open source apps which would eliminate the need for MicroG and Advanced Privacy. I don’t really need IP or Location spoofing either. In that case LOS might be lighter and faster for me since it doesn’t have MicroG. I just have to try it and see.
However LOS still makes some connections to Google such as SUPL and Captive Portal. I don’t think either of those are real privacy concerns, but /e/os doesn’t ping Google like that.
