Do you know approximately when we can expect the implementation of the APN configuration in the OS?
The labels in GitLab look promising…
It’s been lot of days I’m counting just on the WiFi… I’m still in love and faithful to this OS but I have to admit it’s a bit frustrating 
I mean, to call, get and send SMS and be connected to the network are indeed basic functions for a (smart)phone, (the first 2 just for a normal phone).

FYI the update to 4.1.1 is available, I’ve updated the OS and still testing…for the moment I don’t see improvements…since you’re the only one I know with my same carrier and OS please give it a try.

I was able to update to 4.1.1 this morning. Now I have set the APN as per carrier website but the situation seems unchanged. If I check also in the INFO section I see the IMS with all the fields with negative output.
Just for information, if I hit “restore default settings” in APN section I get a second APN named IMS with “ims” as APN and all type of APN selected (default, mms suppl, dun etc.)…seems pretty generic one…but I’m deleting this as I’ve just received the Iliad one fixed by the devs.
Any ideas, tests, settings that I have to change in INFO page or somewhere else? I’d like to restore phone calls, SMS an mobile connection into my phone…consider that many services still rely on SMS ad a backup for 2F authentication system for instance…

Let’s keep it simple first.
After the changed APN I would expect to have to
connect to good Wi-Fi
tap restore default settings
Switch to Airplane mode 10 seconds
try to join carrier network.
Or
connect to good Wi-Fi
tap restore default settings
Power down. Reboot,
try to join carrier network.
To be honest I do not fully understand the function of "APN named IMS with “ims” " … I know it is there deliberately … but “generic” is probably a fair descriptor. It may play an important part in IMS registration.

Yep, already tried …however, I’ve tried again both solutions but it’s not possible to join carrier.
After I tap restore to default on the 3 dots menu in APN I’m getting Iliad APN (with empty radio button =not selected by default) + IMS below (if I’ve deleted it previously, it’s in that moment that it’s recreated back), but IMS does not have the radio button, just for info, I’m not going to select it of course) :
So before I activate the airplane mode or shut down I’ve selected the carrier APN through the radio button:
Just wondering then, why this IMS APN has been kept in the updated code? Do we need it or it might complicate things?

Edited "APN named IMS with “ims” " … I know it is there deliberately … I believe it belongs to a different carrier. It is perfectly normal for you APN page to be populated with APN other than you own.
Good … that is what (ultimately) is needed before Restore default.

Updated today 4.1.1 and also for me no change. No data, no SMS, only call works. I’m very sad… A friend of me use same phone, same os, but different carrier and all work great for him.

I don’t want to oversimplify it, but as far as I remember, before (in 4.0 when everything worked as charm) I used to have just one APN (the carrier one, i.e. Iliad one, with its radio button selected) and no other IMS-like APN was present (especially without a radio button, so at my non-expert’s eyes it looks really not useful or better not usable since it cannot be selected in any case).
So when I opened the issue in GitLab highlighting the difference between carrier website APN parameters and the ones found in the system I hoped that with that occasion also the IMS thing would have been checked.
Correct me if I’m wrong, if this IMS is always present and only with 4.1 and 4.1.1 it has been made “visible” (like hidden files with names beginning with a “dot”) that’s fine…otherwise I’d think it is there by mistake and it’s disturbing somehow the registration on Carrier’s network.
If it’s also @aibd’s sensation that this IMS belongs to a different carrier I’d expect that with the update it would have been corrected or removed from Iliad set, isn’t it?
@bambo so you can call (not VoLTE call, traditional call) at least? Could we compare our settings with the supervision of some wise guy in the forum just to understand how you succeeded in registering at least for traditional calls? I’d be happy to recover at least this basic function.
BTW I’ve been contacting Iliad customer care (even if I’m not thinking it’s a SIM or carrier side issue), I’ll let you know the outcome…on friday at lunchtime they said they would have checked my number situation on the network for 48h but with the weekend in between I’m not confident they did it for real; I’ll contact them tomorrow afternoon again to expedite.

Yes: I can call and send/receive SMS to a standard phone number, can’t send/receive SMS to/from Iliad like 2049 for settings. This was equal also on 4.0.
No data over mobile connection. WiFi works great.
Your screenshot posted here shows same conf as mine.
I use both sim slot, can call from both.
Which conf we can compare? Let me know, thank you.

If I copy and paste “ *#*#INFO*#*# “* in the dial phone and enter the secret info menu I can see under “info telefono”:
I’ve noticed that in another android stock phone under APN it is set IPv4/IPv6 for roaming while in Iliad website it’s written just IPv4 for both home and roaming, that might be the reason I’m not passing IPv6 test? In GitLab chat I did ask to the Dev if “IP” it was correct in IT.xml and they answered me it means “strictly IPv4”:
Idk if I’m getting it correctly but I guess the info on cells are a good sign, meaning my phone sees and gets signals but it “just” cannot register on carrier network:
Here it can be seen no service is available (I guess you have instead some of these with positive outcome):
If someone in the forum sees some clues from this pages of what else could be done..please let me know.

and click to enable data connection in green below, for both sim slot.
All was back to work! Please check ant let us know! I think maybe for you is different because previously I am able to call.

In my case, if I previously switched off the mobile data from upper menu (the one that can be dragged downwards), this “enable data” has just the result to switch on (double arrow symbol highlighted) the icon, but indeed the mobile connection is not restored nor working…if I already had the data switched on (but in current situation not working) I see basically no change; it is just like I am enabling/allowing the system to possibly connect but as the IMS registration is not completed I cannot use mobile data for real (my interpretation).

I’ve talked again with customer care, idk whether they performed some tests or not, they were not so precise and detailed in the conversation (of course I most likely talk to a different operator from last conversation and it wasn’t clear to me what was written in the ticket), they told me most likely my SIM card is demagnetized, they will send me a new one for free…I’ll let you know the outcome in the next days.
I was also yesterday to a fisical shop but the attendant was too new (not just talking of experience, she was not granted with high level password or rights to enter the system); so she couldn’t help me.

Just FYI yesterday night I’ve been able to insert and test the new SIM received from the carrier and I’m back online with calls, SMS and mobile data. So despite the bug on the MMSC, apparently in the same period I had a damaged/demagnetized SIM.

P.S. just not to be bored to much…. with several tests and reboot apparently I’ve damaged the power button (due to wear), but I’ve already found a workaround in FP forum ( wave app + fingerprint sensor).
