FP5 Applounge app installation issue, Aurora says "app not available for your device"

While trying to install certain apps from the Applounge on a Fairphone 5, the installer gets into an endless loop and is not installing. I went through the “delete cache” and “delete data” for the Applounge, but nothing helped.

As the very same apps did install on /e/os on another device (FP6, OP7t Pro), I went to Aurora. To my surprise, the very same apps did not install, but this time giving the error “app not available for your device”. I then found that in Aurora it is possible to spoof your device via the settings. So when I choose to spoof it for another Fairphone model, the app just installed.

After a further search, I found on the Aurora gitlab that this was a known issue and it seems to be solved in LineageOS:

Hopefully /e/os will update the LineageOS version for the FP5 soon, so all users can install their apps again via the Applounge.

In the meantime I hope this information is of any help to all Murena Fairphone 5 users.

It is being discussed in the following thread and there is a workaround tested that seems to alleviate the issue.

For reference: App Lounge cannot show or install many "common" apps (#8738) · Issues · e / Backlog · GitLab

And the workaround:

Thanks, I was not aware !

Same issue with FP5 eos 3.2 -a15- 20251022539003 - official

Some users suggest to pick this commit to fix the problem in LineageOS: https://review.lineageos.org/q/If7ce62fa71ea6f1b744b56c5188b9a66539566f2.

there was a merge yesterday to that end so v3.3 will have this. Until then Aurora Spoofing helps.

from a forum perspective AppL installation woes over the last half year was a twisted issue as it were 2 different problems at its root with one only affecting a subgroup (FP5, +), so threads and gitlab issues were all over. Hard to keep things apart without telemetry (that users do not want).

In this case you are absolutely right.
Do you know where to turn it on?
Maybe we can turn it on if it’s needed and the other time turn it off

You need to do this if not already aware. Look for it in the settings of Aurora
