FP6 eOS - Can`t send and receive images thru Messenger app

Hi, the topic heading says it all.

Hello @greindur, Welcome to the /e/ users forum.

you may need to disable wifi and data connexions to go to settings enabling MMS over data.
or
you may check if APN settings match your carrier requirements.

Hi @piero,

Thanks for the add, and the quick feedback. Sorry for not introducing myself. I just ditched a Iphone 13 Pro for FP6 eOS. Everything is working, including local banking apps. Except including images in messages. Or receiving images.

I am not able to get to APN on eSIM.

I have tried setting SMSC manually, but I only get an error.

I disabled Wifi and roeming under simcard, and tried to manually set SMSC number. Eror, and now SIMs is greyed out in Settings/ Network & Internet. I tried start it in safe mode, but it won`t. Pressing Power/Volum UP at startup, I get to some settings, but starting in safe mode only takes me back this start up.

I took the pill, and did a factory reset. After reset, the SIMs in Settings/Networks and Internet is still greyed out.

Was it a new device ? Never used before the switch to /e/ ?

My “named” SIM in that location is greyed out.

SIM settings are at Settings > Network and Internet > Intermet > My_SIM_ > Gear icon.

I wonder if incoming and outgoing MMS are different issues. There are several reports of not being able to receive MMS from iPhone. Have you tested incoming from multiple sources?

Its a little over a week old. I have used it without issues (except images in messages), the SIMs greyed out when I tried to set SMSC manually.

.

according to : Install /e/OS on a Fairphone The Fairphone (Gen. 6) - “FP6”

Warning: Make sure that you can send and receive SMS and place and receive calls (also via WiFi and LTE, if available), otherwise it will not work on /e/OS as well. Additionally, some devices require that VoLTE/VoWiFi be utilized once on stock to provision IMS.

Yes, I have tested with both iPhone and Android units.

In Settings > Network and Internet > Intermet, I have no listing of SIM.

The unit was purchased with /e/ pre-installed.

Trying to get the SIMs setting out of grey, I remove the battery for several hours. Unfortunately, no change. I`m out ideas how to solve this. Well, maybe reflashing eOS from a PC.

When doing factory reset, a error appear. Anyone can share light on this?

I switched messaging apps to chomp and that worked for me.

Thanks @slaphappysam
