Garmin watch disconnected after some hours

After updating to /e/OS 3.7.1-a15 on my Fairphone 5 my Garmin watch gets disconnected from Bluetooth after some hours. The process starts with a message that the device was disconnected and I should for safety reasons disconnect the device and reconnect it.

In that state the system seems to try and reconnect the device again just to.run into the same issue whichnresults in a new notification. That repeats in seconds.

Is that a known problem that.will be fixed in the next release?

You could try Settings > System > Reset options > Reset Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

All passwords will be reset / deleted though.

Would have been nice. But it just took a few hoius to be back to the “vivoactive is not connected - For your security, forget this device, then pair it again” notification ecery 5 seconds or so…

I have the same problem. Let me know when you find a solution.

I am not sure what happend but it seems to have been fixed. After constantly reconnecting at one point (might have been an update of the Garmin app) the watch stayed “connected”. I still get messages that the phone was disconnected on the watch (when I leave the phone behind) but since about a week the wathc automatically reconnects when I get back…

Connect app-version is 5.21.1

Same issue here, still happening today. I had this problem a few months ago and managed to fix it at the time, but I can’t remember what I did.

I just reset my BT settings hoping it helps.

If anyone has a better understanding of what’s causing this, I’d be very interested to hear more about the root cause.

This reminds me of a generic BT player device which went flaky and it turned out there was an undocumented BT reset within the device. It seemed to have a pairing limit of 3 connections.

I found out, that my watch was not under saved bt devices. So I added the watch first over the bt settings and afterward opened the garmin connect app and did the connection there again. Since then it works.
