I installed /e/os on an old xiaomi A3 I had lying around, and am so far very happy about this! I am now trying to get google wallet working on it, but I can’t find any options for activating NFC in the settings. According to this it should be possible to do so. I am also at a loss on how to transfer my one pass to the wallet. Ideally I would not want to use google wallet at all, so if anybody has any tips on how to extract the passes from google’s clutches, then I am all ears…
Google wallet will not run on eOS or any other microG ROM. Google wallet must have google play services to work.
If you are in Europe I believe there are other payment options for microG ROM’s.
This is one of the tradeoffs of running a de-goggled ROM. Don’t forget you can still us a debit/credit cards to make wireless payments.
Cool, thanks for the clarification! I’m happy not to use Google Wallet, the only thingI might have needed it for is my gym, which is now threatening to go Wallet only in order to enter the building… sigh… I have sent them a stern letter. Luckily there’s a competing gym with a similar profile just across the street, with no such plans.
Go with Curve Pay (proprietary/closed), it works for me.
