Home Assistant - Exodus - AltBeacon

Hi
I have just installed the Full version of Home Assistant companion app on my E/OS Samsung S9.

Exodus reports ‘AltBeacon’ as a tracker, I understand AltBeacon is some form of Transmit/Receive protocol - should I have any privacy concerns with this ‘AltBeacon’ ?

Thanks

Hi,
Home Assistant has 44 authorizations with really concerning ones. For example WRITE_SETTINGS for modifying system settings.
I would try to avoid this app.

if I’m not throughly mistaken, as HA is the recipient of bluetooth LE beacon discovery and you’re not sending this offsite, there shouldn’t be a privacy angle. It’d be different if a networked app like McDonalds takes the beacon info and sends it to its mothership though to release any on-device Ads/interactions

Thanks, I am using HA as it is Privacy Focused, but was not sure exactly what the ‘AltBeacon’ is, as the server is connected to the internet.

Yes this is what has been said on the HA site, ie its all onsite:
