I have an Pixel 9A, and I’ve only had minor problems that has been solved with updates. I also have an Moto G32 that works well with e/OS. And a Galaxy tab A7 that I use daily without any hickups. And I don’t think that any of these devices are officially supported. They’re all community.
But scrolling through the forum, most questions and bugs seems to be about Fairphone 4 and 6. How come? They are both officially supported. And shouldn’t Fairphone and e/OS team up to solve whatever issues that arises?
My girlfriend has an FP4, but as it is now I recommend her to stick with the stock OS. Which is a shame.
Asked myself the same question some times in the last weeks. Murena and Fairphone both talk about partnership. But there seems to be a lot of issues on both sides. It would be good to see both of them work together more closely on important bugs.
I hope that it may help you to resolve the mystery: they are the most popular phone sold by Murena and Faiphone sells them with e/OS as well… many users, many problems
P.S. I bet that on Graphene OS forum Pixels are the worst!
The biggest issue I had with the FP6 was the ipv6 wifi problem but that has been fixed with 4.3 and the fix for Google Android still has to be released so this is a Fairphone 6 wide problem.
To be fair, apart from the chipmunk/mickey mouse on helium VOIP problem, 4.3 a16 on FP4 is running very good. For me, I can live with the odd bug providing there is a timely response with patches to serious issues like this one.
That being said, was a little surprised this glitch made it into the final build because I flagged it on one of the interim beta. But appreciate the team are super busy at work squishing bugs and don’t necessarily have the resources of Apple/Google so can’t really blame them.
Yes, I don’t know why, but the VoIP chipmunk problem reported for 4.3-a16-20260917677552-official-FP4 doesn’t affect me either - all calls in Threema and FritzFon have been and are running fine
This being said, I hit me in the past (must have been /e/OS v2 or v3) when nobody else was affected. So it’s kinda weird
Thanks cits74! I have posted a lot in the past about FP4 sound issues with Skype-now-Teams and having direct feedback about if 4.3.1 is OK with Teams with respect to sound is very useful to me.
