I think the Huawei ban is a good start to challenge the Google monopoly on android, as now they have to work on making an Android fork which can work globally. People in China are already used to Googleless Android, maybe we should try to get used to this approach now. As Duval said, it could take 10 years, but we should start now.
My personal opinion about this is, just like Google, /e/ and others non Google Android roms/OS devs should think about making a uniform app platform instead of having multiple android stores, and also work on an Androïd Studio alternative. If we want a competitive App Store, we also need to give tools to the developers.

Hello, no matter what they say, they’re all based on the code created by Andy Rubin. Well that’s just an opinion. Best regards.

Huawei have been working on their own OS for three years and should be pushed out soon.
