Simply speaking in Android an Album is a Folder containing Images.

So in a default /e/ environment you can use the Files app to create a new folder … name it to Old_Photos or whatever you like.

Now use the Files app to move some images into your new folder.

Open the Gallery app … the folder is present containing your images.

(Notice that if no images are in the folder then Gallery does not see the folder!)
