I’m new to E/OS and setting up a Fairphone 6. I was exited and many things worked out well. However, I have a few issues I cannot solve.
Issue 1: I use a different Gallery (Ente) and prefer not to use Simple Gallery nor upload photos to the Murena cloud. I made Ente my standard app, but how do I prevent Simple Gallery to upload to the Murena cloud?

To avoid synching of photos and videos, go into Settings > Accounts > Accounts for Owner > [the first one, YOUR Murena account] > Account sync > …
Sidenote: Simple Gallery is not the default gallery App in /e/OS.
According to https://doc.e.foundation/what-s-e#eos-default-applications it’s “default Android gallery3d”.
On my Android 13 /e/OS phone it’s indeed com.android.gallery3d. And I have installed Simple Gallery additionally and use it (Edit: old version, don’t do this now), it’s clearly a different App.
On my Android 15 /e/OS phone the default gallery App is org.lineageos.glimpse, the LineageOS default gallery App since Android 14.

Do not install app from Simple Mobile Tools. They sale their products to a company who add ads on the apps.
Use Fossify Apps, it’s forks of Simple Mobile Tools but without ads, without trackers.
You are totally correct, I forgot about that.
I still use the old F-Droid version from before it was sold to the ad and tracker company.
