How to stop spotify from running in the background?

Hi there.

I’m the proud owner of a FP6 with the newest /e/OS.

My only issue is with spotify. It always runs, in the background. And when I connect a bluetooth device it always starts playing the last music/podcast I was listening to. I hate that!

How to disable an app from running in the background?

Other android posts across the internet suggest using the “Data Saver Settings” or “Settings → Apps → Spotify → Background Usage/Notifications”. All these settings do not exist in /e/OS.

Or at least I can’t find them.

Any suggestions on how to disable background spotify?

Currently, AFTER using spotify I go to “Settings → Apps → Spotify → Force Stop”. This makes me unhappy.

Hello,
You can disable background permission in
Settings → Apps → Spotify → Battery usage by the app – uncheck the box.
However, with my Deezer app, once the option was disabled, continuous playback stopped; I had to manually restart the music after each track.
Sorry for my English; it’s an automatic translation from French.

This worked really well! Thx a lot! Spotify even gave me an error that it won’t be able to do background music due to that setting.

I wished I just could disable auto-play with the OS bluetooth settings. My wife has the same issue with audible, whenever a bluetooth device connects, Android thinks it must play something.

Thx again for the solution!
