I found a gallery app that organises photos by Exif dates!

Hello all

While looking around for an alternative gallery app, I stumbled upon Aves Libre Gallery. I was brought in initially by the filtering and sorting options, but by accident I was delighted to learn that that includes sorting by exif date!

I was a little disappointed having switched froma. FP3 to a FP6, both running /e/OS, that when I transferred over my photos from my old device they showed up in the stock gallery app out of order, sorted automatically by transfer date (so in one big block for the day they arrived). Aves, however, allows you to sort by the photo’s own extant data of when it was taken - much better!

(It’s also 9/10 for privacy on the App Lounge if that helps!)

Aves or Fossify are good. Bugtracker trivia: there was a debug build in the linked thread that would use DATE_TAKEN (exif) as sort attribute, but as the logic for files without exif (outside DCIM/) needed more effort, DATE_MODIFIED was used instead.
