Impossible to update any app, or access the App Lounge for Fairphone 6 on /e/os

Hello dear community,

I received my Fairphone 6 in August with the /e/os build. I hardly customized it, I didn’t root it or did anything that wasn’t recommended regarding the parameters.

For the past week I noticed a deep issue with my phone. Every app after the other is becoming obsolete and requests an update, that I can’t manage to install. When I click on the eventual update link, I get a white page that doesn’t lead me anywhere. I cannot install any other installer to bypass the issue either.

Now when I open the default update software (App Lounge), I am disconnected and can’t get it to connect in any way :

  • If I try to connect with Google services, I get a error page saying “net::ERR_INTERNET_DISCONNECTED”;

  • If I connect anonymously, the pages of the app seem to be loading indefinitely;

  • If I select only the PWA and open sources apps, I get a prompt saying “An error occurred while loading the application. This may be due to an absence of feedback from the server, or another server error” (rough translation);

  • It is of course impossible to update the App Lounge itself.

  • Any attempt to download an update from the web takes me to a white page that doesn’t load.

I notice that when I am trying to download an update for any app or when I open App Lounge, I get a symbol appearing on the system tray at the top of the screen that seems to be linked to the firewall (crossed Earth symbol), however I can’t reach the parameters for the firewall and don’t remember changing any related parameter.

My phone is slowly becoming a brick as more and more app are becoming obsolete by the day. I can’t find any similar issue on this forum or on the /e/os help forum, could a charitable soul help me with this issue ?

Thanks in advance,

T. Evrard

Just for cross-reference for others wanting to help:

Have you tried to “reset” the App Lounge?

Settings > Apps > See all … apps > App Lounge > Storage and cache > Clear Storage / clear cache

Yes, I cleared the history and cache, then I restarted the phone without any change.

For an estimate when 3.3 will come, see moderator Manoj’s latest update :right_arrow: Week 50, 2025: Development and Testing Updates (highly recommended: Follow his weekly updates in the long run :slightly_smiling_face:) Once the 3.3. update is available, feedback can be given here :right_arrow: Feedback for v3.3

Hello,

I just saw that the v3.3 of e/os will most likely solve the issue, and that it is announced for this week. I hope I will be able to download it, giving that any update seems to be blocked on my phone.

I will wait patiently until then, and give a feedback if the problem persists.

See you then !

@aibd I don’t think this is up the spoofing alley. The fix concerning AppL issues because of the device profile is specific for the FP5

@ThibautE can you try this? Android shows active internet connection, but no apps have internet access - #9 by coco

Thank you very much, it seems the problem is solved. The App Lounge is again able to connect to the internet and updates seem to be on their way.
