FP5 with 3.4-a15-20260114569178-official-FP5
Since the OTA upgrade A13->A15 I have recurrently the situation, that incoming calls are not received by the phone. The caller is immediately dropped as if my phone were offline, which is not the case. Instead I instantly receive an SMS from the provider about a ‘missed call’.
Rebooting the phone resolves this issue for a while, i.e. receiving calls as usual.
Any ideas about possible cause and solutions are appreciated.
Thank you
Did you check the usual suspect APN?
Thanks for answering!
Yes, but I don’t know what I’m looking for.
APN/Provider settings worked flawlessly out of the box for >1 year with eOS A13.
Can they change after the upgrade → A15?
Can they change ‘back’ after at reboot?
They can change after an update, happend to others it can also make it unuseable. If I understand it correctly the OS has like an internal list and if it has an error you need to add it manually.
Thanks!
In settings there’s only 1 entry: ‘mass.at’, which is the one that is presently working.
i.e. I do receive calls.
But I’ll keep an eye on it next time it stops working again.
Hi there,
It is some time back I encountered the same problem (FP5 official, physical SIM) and found out that in Network=>SIMCard the option for using 4G/LTE if enabled leads to this problem. So I disabled this option (“4G-Anrufe”).
All went well, now I am on 3.5 official. My provider sent an SMS:
“Dear spusu customer!
We have noticed that your smartphone is sometimes unable to connect to our 4G/5G network. This is because VoLTE has not yet been activated on your device.
Please activate VoLTE on your smartphone today so that you can benefit from the best possible network coverage and crystal-clear voice quality.”
So I enabled the option again, thinking that it is VoLTE, and now sometimes I can’t receive calls and do not get a missed call SMS.
My son tried to reach me for picking him up and called a few times - no log on my phone, only at his outgoing call.
I have nearly full signal strength all the time.
I’m curious to find out, what’s going on there, any hints?
Regards,
Thanks for sharing that observation!
Looking it up, I find 4G (‘4G-Anrufe’) enabled.
Just switched it off - let’s see if there is any effect.
To add additional experience to my initial description.
On several occasions I found out that, if the caller keeps trying, after 3-4 retries the call finally is received by my phone. Without any intervention on my side.
I get a series of SMS from my mailbox about ‘missed calls’ and than the phone rings.
@mihi: in all that cases no change in the APN settings - always the same entry
@Yogi @gefri
4G-Calling/4G-Anrufe and VoLTE resp. are the same. It should work with that.
I use Mucho Mobile which is a MVNO just like Spusu, I just don’t recall which antenaprovider it is. Mucho Mobile is Swisscom.
You can easily determine that.
- Dial
*#*#INFO#*#*. - Select “Phone information.”
- Observe the “Current Network” field.
- Or scroll to near the bottom and look for the MCC and MNC values.
- Then look up the values here: Mobile country code - Wikipedia
Spusu is the Marketing Name for Mass Response Service GmbH in Austria,
it uses the Mobile Network of “3” (Drei)
Thanks for the Infos,
Regards,
Ohh, I see Spusu is also available in Austria. Didn’t know that. Then my experience is not that relevant ![]()

Follow-up: After switching off 4G 2 days ago, I received several calls without any problem.
No ‘missed call’ or similar issues so far.
I’ll keep observing…
I just saw others struggling with similar things as phone calls not received, MMS not possible
and saw that some checked the status of IMS Status.
So I did a check of it and see:
I’m curious, what that means, because I can’t use VoLTE. MMS, VoWifi (WLAN Telefonie)
What I did after finding some information on the net:
Reset of the APN
Physical SIM removed/inserted again
Restart
Manuell selecting of the Provider, not automatically
Any hints?
Regards,
Not my subject but seeing (from your first post here) your carrier saying
We have noticed that your smartphone is sometimes unable to connect to our 4G/5G network. This is because VoLTE has not yet been activated on your device.
Could this be connected to the second part of the warning on the FP5 install page
Warning: Make sure that you can send and receive SMS and place and receive calls (also via WiFi and LTE, if available), otherwise it will not work on /e/OS as well. Additionally, some devices require that VoLTE/VoWiFi be utilized once on stock to provision IMS.
This might imply that some part of IMS registration happens on a part of the device inaccessible to AOSP.
Thanks for jumping in, I will just ask the provider if there is something from
his side,
Regards,
