Since latest /e/os update (3.1.1) I have been unable to update my apps.
Whenever I open App Lounge, I can see the featured apps on the Home screen, the Categories, I can search for an app and access the settings.
But if I try to open the Updates screen, it loads forever.
I have tried reconnecting to the google account I use and also tried as anonymous. I have tried on mobile network and on home (no proxy, no outbount blocking rules) wifi. I have also tried clearing the cache and all the data of the app.
The only thing I can say is that it looks like an issue with google play store, because if I check only open source (Fdroid) apps and PWAs in the settings, I have a positive result on the Updates screen. If I check with common apps, I get the current situation.
Obviously, I do no longer recieve the App Lounge notifications about the available updates.
Technical details :
Device : FP5 (bought with /e/os on Murena store)
/e/os version : 3.1.1-t-20250828521480-official-FP5
App Lounge Version : 2.13.9
I’ll be happy to provide more information if needed.
Most of the time I use F-Droid for getting apps, but this is not your question. In cases when I had trouble with App Lounge, I cleaned the cache and the storage of this app and then started it again. To make it clear, stop the app, clean cache, clean storage, start the app again and then choose the preferred account.
And in case that this is still not working for you, an intermediate solution is to install Aurora, for example via F-Droid.
I forgot to mention that I already tried clearing the cache and all the app’s data.
I know of fdroid and aurora, I am already using them as a temporary alternative, but really I am searching for help and other users that face this issue.
Hi!
I experienced the same issue. In my case a reboot did an automatic search for upgradable Apps and I only had to confirm with “upgrade all”. Then ignore the information about anonymous account and wait for the upgrade to finish.
It is always a challenge for App Lounge and Aurora Store. In this thread App Lounge hangs on many "common" apps that idea is explored and there is a suggestion that Fairphone may be particularly disadvantaged.
There are also suggestions in that thread expanding on the App Lounge FAQ including log out and log in, don’t keep trying after any fail, turn off Advanced privacy.
One time I inadvertently cleared an App Lounge stall such as yours, while attempting to collect a logcat of the App Lounge stall, App Lounge open, I rebooted while phone is in charging mode.
Ok, this is crazy. This just worked…
When I read this, I just plugged in my (fast) charger and rebooted. And the App Lounge just started working… just like that, after weeks of being broken.
And to be complete, for those trying to make sense of this all, OpenGL rendering in OsmAnd started working again as well… for me this is always co-related.
On the Google security page I see two devices now: a “Google-Pixel 2” and an “Unknown device”. The “Pixel” logged in 10min ago, the other one (probably the App Lounge) 8min ago.
Hi, I haven’t found anything that worked in there. I already tried logging out and in, using anonymous account, but nothing changed.
Rebooting with the phone charging did not fix my issue.
Just to be sure here are my steps, maybe you did something special il between : plugged the phone ton a >= 30W charger (FP5 takes 30W); held the power button; clicked on reboot; did not unplug; unlocked simcard; unlocked screen; went to app lounge in updates.
Two things come to mind when the problem reoccurs… you might try to clear cache of OsmAnd and App Lounge Storage together … you might check if App Lounge behaves differently in Safe mode.
Somebody might correct me please if wrong but Reboot while charging is known to cause a certain System reset which I think amounts to Clear system cache on some / all devices
