Install eOS on Fairphone 6 FP6.QREL.16.82.0

Hello everyone,

I want to install eOS on a Fairphone 6 again and thinking that i might see a problem.
I updated the phone to the lastest securitypatch: FP6.QREL.16.82.0.
But now my phone is on Android 16 and the latest download i see is Android 15.
Maybe its okay and i have to wait for A16 and still flashing it with A15?
Everytime this proces giving me stress and i really want to know if this is okay.

I already unlocked the bootloader, but can i flash the FP6 with an eOS Build on Android 15?

installing cause no issue, but relocking.

If you plan to relock the bootloader after the installlation

this is not mandatoty, and only available with Official version, why relocking ?

Most important thing to take care about is the “android Security Update" aka "Security Patch Level” date (SPL) included in the installed Operating System on your device at time of the unlock.

new version on witch you want to relock the bootloader, must included a NEWER (or the same) “android Security Update" aka "Security Patch Level” date (SPL),

otherwise you risk to change your device into Brick.

Okay thats nice to hear.
The last time that i wanted to relock the bootloader i bricked my Fairphone but now i have a Fairphone 6 with Security Patch of June 2026 A16 and installing eOS A15, so i can safely re-lock the bootloader right?
For me it is no problem to have an unlocked bootloader but it sounds not really safe.
I see only the message when ik start/reboot the phone.
But i thought that i saw that some apps like banking apps do not work with an unlocked bootloader?

installing is not an issue, but for relocking the bootloader

You must wait for an /e/OS release that include july SPL !
