Installed /e/Os on Fairphone 6 03/04/2026. GPS not working in any app

First time /e/Os user. I’ve installed the official Fairphone 6 image: ‘IMG-e-3.6-a15-20260312593772-official-FP6’ but I don´t have a functioning GPS. microG seems to be working. Configuration as followed:

  • Online location service: BeaconDB

  • (Wi-Fi location) Request from online services: true

  • (Wi-Fi location) Request from Hotspot: true

  • (Wi-Fi location) Remember from GPS: true

  • (Mobile network location) Request from online service: true

  • (Mobile network location) Remember from GPS: true

  • (Address Resolver) Use Nominatim: true

  • Self check: all true

  • Google device registration: On

  • Play Store services: All enabled.

  • version: 0.3.13.250932-18

Any suggestions?

You might want to have a look into /e/OS Advanced Privacy. You can find it on the screen to the left of the home screen.

Advanced Privacy includes the option to not submit your correct location to apps (right now I do not know if this is the default). You can either allow all apps to see your correct location – or exempt certain apps from the false location other apps are getting.

I tried flashing the same image again and this time location services are indeed working. Not sure what went wrong initially, I got no message during installation or setup that something went wrong. In any case I’m glad it is working now.
