Is anyone else having this issue with the stock music player?

For some reason about 80% of the time when I have the next song in an album or playlist it will just be silent for the entire duration of the song unless I reopen the app and tap on the song that is supposed to be playing. It’s a really strange bug because on the lock screen it makes the little wavey animation as if it knows it’s playing something and the duration will all be correct but it will just be silent. Is this a known bug? And does anyone have any recommended apps to use until it gets fixed? I downloaded a different tasks app and it’s significantly better than the stock one so I’m assuming there’s decent alternatives out there.

Is this a known bug?

this came up before here: Music app randomly plays some songs muted

the linked bug is scoped to bluetooth when users also reported this affects wired connections too.

I use vanilla music player because of the folder-based view and never had an issue (FP3).

Imo the reports lack device and version strings - to exclude this is device specific

vanilla music is not really better. All those music players do not retrieve every album you have stored, especially when stored on a SD-card.
