Issue with Photo Settings, Open Camera

Phone: FP6, Fairphone6
/e/OS version:
4.3-a16-20260917677552-official-FP6

Some time ago I altered the settings to maximum resolution which sets the aspect to 4:3.

So I change this this to a lower res (9.44 Mb) which has the desired aspect of 16:9.

However, it does not stick. When I launch the Open Camera app again it reverts back to maximum res and its associated aspect of 4:3!

Had the same issue, led me to changing camera app. Not sure why these settings fail to be permanent. I looked for an answer for a week, a year ago and gave up.

I don’t remember now exactly for sure, but it might be that it only happened in pre-installed openCamera, and if you install separate openCamera from f-droid it works well..

OpenCamera used to get stuck shortly after some “impossible” mix of settings.

The fix was Camera app > top right Settings icon > scroll to foot > Settings manager > Reset settings.

Many thanks. I will see if it holds. Selected the 9.44 Mb 16:9 option in photo settings. :+1:
