I have just bought a Fairphone 6 running e/OS and and very pleased with the privacy features.
I have an issue however, with creating folders bith in the stock file manager “Files” and in my preferred file manager Total Commander. When I try to do so I typically get an access denied message but if I reboot the phone I get access to create folders.
Is this a known issue or something unique to me? Thanks for any pointers.
I’m new to e/Os as well with the same configuration (FP6).
I cannot really provide with any help, only with the information, that i can simply create a new folder within the files-app. No error message, folder simply shows up.
If reboot clears the issue seems to imply, perhaps, something happens to “degrade” the permissions.
Does the same happen in Safe mode? This might suggest that a user installed app is interfering. For Safe mode from powered on, screen unlocked, Press Power button > Long press Power off icon.
I’m happy to say that I have fixed the issue. I tracked it to the microSD card which had developed an intermittent read/write fault. It’s cured with a new microSD card.
