Kamera-App plays shutter Sound although it's turned off

Hello everyone,

can anyone confirm that in their camera app, the shutter sound plays when starting and stopping video recording - even though it is turned off in the menu?

I have noticed this for a few update versions now, but I am only writing about it now because I hoped it would be fixed. Now I would like to know if I need to change any settings or if others are also experiencing this problem.

I am using:
Fairphone 4
/e/os 3.2-a14-20251022539005-official-FP4
Camera: v1.53.1 (original camera API)

This is maybe a bit of a stretch, but are you by any chance using a model that was sold in Japan or South Korea? Or did you observe this behaviour on a cellular network of one of these? Some countries have regulations that do not allow shutter sounds to be turned off.

Thanks, but no. I bought the Phone directly on the Fairphone-OnlineShop (Netherlands to Germany). I have other Kamera-Apps on that phone and if I turn off the Shutter-Sound in those Apps, then the recording (Start-Stop) is silent. A few updates ago, there was no problem with the /e/os-Camera-App Shutter-Sound off.
