Thanks. I looked into it. Am I wrong, or none of them provides an API for submitting new evaluations? They both require entering data manually through their app.
I tried Sapio’s API: it’s useful for gathering information on apps that have been submitted already. No API endpoint for contributing to their list instead, as fas as I can tell.
I have started using Sapio. It’s great. Should be bundled with e/OS, to facilitate app evaluations from users. It’s easier than editing a shared table.
The API (strapi.io) is very powerful: I was able to format the output into a spreadsheet using standard parsing tools (jq).
As of now, it is not possible to select a cathegory (let’s say “banking”) for the app being evaluated, therefore cannot use the API to extract a list of all the banking apps that work well with microG, for example.
Strava seems to be working now for me. Teracube2e Zirconia with 2.7 official s (Android 12), not rooted.
I’m using a Microsoft account and the recapcha is working fine.
UB
Google Photos works.
Sometimes the latest version doesn’t work - that’s why I don’t update every time.
Right now, on my /e/OS 2.9 A14 installation, version 7.21.0.737764319 (49864718) is working perfectly.
If you’ve updated to a version that doesn’t work, you can downgrade the app by selecting a specific version. I use AuroraStore for this task.
The mobility app 99 (also known in Brasil as 99 Pop, or just Pop) is working only partially. Navigate the app works fine, but, when you call a ride, the app starts to close and stops, if you try to open again, same behavior, close and stops. So you can’t message the driver, you can’t cancel your ride, you can’t see approaching time.
I agree, but it’s not trivial: first you have to collect structured compatibility reports (see post up this thread), then layer this into a playstore api response. This issue is maybe tangentially related:
FYI
I currently see 3 alphabetically sorted lists in the first post.
The first is titled Working with microG
The last is titled Not Working with microG
Personal preference, if I manage to search for an entry that is somewhere in the middle, it’s not immediately obvious to know that I left the “Working part”, and entered the “Not Working part”.
Real challenge: There is a second list that has no title. I have no clue how it’s different from the others.
Note that there is a Zou app that appears in several lists, which tends to highlight the challenge of having distinct lists.
For what it’s worth, I would favour just one list, and adding 1 or more column(s) for “works”, “doesn’t work”, or the level of support etc.
I think you should mention the Plexus app which has a very complementary angle. Plexus doesn’t have the exact same information as its categories are “degoogled” and “microg”, with no focus on /e/. But Plexus allows a person that has 100 apps on a “Googled” phone, to run the app, and check for their own apps, if they are supported or not; with no need to beat the bush searching for their own 100 apps. I think that is very useful and very convenient for a person contemplating a future switch to a degoogled phone.
In the “non working with Micro-G” list, I just added: “Just Eat Switzerland” (com.eat.ch)
When I try to login to my account, I click on “Send the verification code by email”, immediately the message “An error has occurred” appears.
I tried to deactivate Advanced Privacy, I have granted all permissions, and I have also added all the links suggested in => Applications => Just Eat => Open by default. Also tried to clear cache and storage several time… But no effect.
(FP6, 3.1.3-Official-A15 - Not rooted - Locked Bootloader)
I noticed that the Scalable Capital app gives me a warning that the app noticed that my OS was “modified”. So far, I don’t see any restriction due to this, but I didn’t see this warning in the past, so it could be that in the future there will be problems.
Phone is FP3 with the official /e/ OS image installed via easy installer.
Since the last update of /e os on Fairphone 6 (3.3-A15-20251210556408-official-FP6). Duo mobile stopped working due to Failed Google Play Integrity Attestation. It worked fine on the previous update.
