[LIST] Banking Apps on /e/OS

I have a Pixel 8 / 3.4 official build, bootloader locked, with boursorama (7.60.5, from 26/1/2026) not working unfortunately application not from Google Play store. Any ideas or updates since your post?

NB: Sociéte Générale, Revolut, Lydia are working

Tide Bank app installs and lets you login but then crashes. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tideplatform.banking&hl=en_GB&pli=1

Latest version is 7.61.1, give it a try…

I also cannot run MBWay. It keeps telling me that it need to activate googles services and I never receive the code via sms. I have the MicroG running and it works with CGD Caixa Directa app.

FIY: Ma Banque - Crédit Agricole (France) works perfectly on FP3 (stable 3.4 with locked bootloader), and has for the past two years.

FBH, me neither, im clearly sending message to banks forcing users to get “the app, pls install the app, only the app, without app you can’t be our client anymore”, okay, then let’s close the account !

it clearly became a app-mafia world, whom i consider that :

years ago, banks were not at all in the idea to be app-accessible

years ago, banks were providing some little device, free for the user, instead of the app, in some countries

smartphone and apps are good UNLESS, as the same for religion : if it’s forbidden or mandatory, that mean evil is in the equation. I consider mandartory apps are evil.

i already closed up account of seven banks, here in FR, due to forced apps by banks. I clearly respond : either it’s full managed on my computer, or IRL (without device if mine), or it just wont be with me

and the winner is… revolut ! even forcing people to use a 100% googled-secured phone for it’s customers.. i just dont understand at all why they still have customers (except grandmas globetrotteuse maybe)

and even the worst, in addition of “mandatory apps”, is that (especially with revolut fanboys) lot of their customers wants, and applause, to the idea of forcing litterally everyone in the society to get one, even more than to get just “a cell phone” : “if you dont have smartphone with apps, you can’t be with us, in our society”, claims lot of people on several forums. And they’re proud of this new religion !

“the app” is becoming more and more the “pool people solution”, as new services (especially plateforms that connect individuals -not only dating websites) are either closing their website, or just not opening new ones, except for services that makes paying fees for web browser support (even the camping most popular online service !)

app = depend of latest iphone releases, or android latest ones ; it’s not just google evil service, it’s also a hardware subscription :

“please update to the latest version of our app to use our service” says app

“please update to the latest version of android to update our app” says playstore

“please update to a newer device” says manufacturer about your not-upgradable device

it’s clearly the customer forced to frequently -mean 5 years old max- pays out for the good eyes, and savings, of the online service.

thats why i jerked out any sort of device supporting apps, of my daily life.

online services AND gafam forces us to radicalise us. Before smartphone, 2000s world with computers, was far away more practical, and just better, than the 2020s apps-only society (a nightmare, evil’s order has been delivered lol)

enjoy.

I’d like to say, in addition :
to services requesting “only app, no apps we can’t manage”, just answer : “okay, no problem, post me the device by mail, at your own fees ; i dont have compatible device, and wont spend a penny just for you”.

they make the world incomfortable - not us.

they forced us to obtain a cell phone number ten years ago - they’re doing exactly the same with the apps, with huge-less flexibility. Just say no, close the account. And dont forget to signal them on signal-conso.

Hello,

The Swisscard app seems not working anymore on FP4 with 3.4-a14-20260114569180-official-FP4. Error message says the app cannot run on a rooted device. It was working fine until late december/ beginning of January. Not sure if it stopped working after the 3.4 update.

I am using the official release with locked bootloader. But my FP4 was not preloaded with /e/os.

I tried using a work profile, it does not detect the phone as rooted, but cannot use the registration link sent by sms. So still stuck for now.

Maybe add your findings to here. Looks like more than one device is affected, it might even be one manufacturer who is affected.

I can change the title of the reported bug. It might get more traction like that :man_shrugging::man_shrugging:

I have this issue as well, but already observed it in 3.3 - it seems more related to an update of the Swisscard app. The recent upgrade to 3.5 did not solve the issue.

Can’t edit wiki list, so I’ll just paste it here:

The Czech mBank app keeps working except for the “Cards” section, when the app crashes. One is able to view debit/credit/virtual cards in web browser.

Banka Creditas app works.

Since you are new, your trustlevel is low. After spending bit of time on the forum then you’ll get the permission to change.

Hello, I am considering buying a phairphone 6. I would like to choose the e/os (murena) option. My Belgium Bank Apps are not listed in the updated listed provided on this forum. His there a way to know if they will work? Can someone of the community test the Belgian Bank Apps that are not listed? Thank you in advance for your help/answers

I can only install an app and launch it, but I won’t be able to test it with an account.

ok. thank you for the reply.

Hi @Manoj

As I get an 500 error if I try to update your tab: my 2c, have a good day.

French Bank “Crédit Agricole” working fine here.

Here is how to setup it up (my way) on Pixel 3 XL and Fairphone 3 :

I installed the app from aurora store without starting it.

In browser (Fennec for me) advanced preferences, allowed “Open links in app” always.

Restart the phone, and start the app, enter codes and so, open the link received by SMS with the app and … boum done !

EVERYTHING working as needed.

NB: if you do it in restricted/pro profile like with Shelter, it is the same: you have to installed both bank app and browser in the same profile and open the link send by the bank with your pro browser (allowed to open links in app of course).

I have this issue too on a FP5 with /e/OS 3.5 official. For me the problem was introduced by the december update to the swisscard app in order to continue to get notifications etc I am continuing to run with version 2.38.4 of the swisscard app which did work fine, it has some issues since I updated /e/OS/ from 3.4 to 3.5 but at least it runs. The same problem is also there on the 3.5 community build version.

From my tests the root detection was clearly introduced by the app with their december release (I’ve tried reporting it to them too) .

I am pleased to see that you are running with a locked bootloader because I am not and was concerned that the issue was because of that.
I just tried it on my SM-T500 running A15 lineage with microg and root is not detected there so what do I do, report it as an /e/OS bug?

I’m sorry to report LCL contactless payment side app stopped working a few weeks ago for me.

An app update has been dropped this week-end, and it now displays at startup (my translation):

“your device does not comply with security standard allowing to use application Paiement Mobile LCL”, with support email address.

I contacted the support, and they stated that one requirement is: “pre-installed Google Play Store”.

I will fill a complain, but I’m dubious on its chances of success.

Looks like many banking apps are going towards requiring Apple or Google “security” framework. Is there an existing collective trying to repell this?

IKO application for Polish bank PKO Bank Polski works. Contactless payments via BLIK, parking tickets, transportation tickets, managing accounts, adding car for auto charging my account on paid roads. Most of the application work. The only issue is ATM localization on map. The IKO application uses Google Maps, and since /e/OS uses MapLibre the textures are not loaded.

My location on the map.

A random town shown on the map.

Maybe a translation wrapper would fix it but since its a bank application.. it should be baked into the OS since using fake banking apps is quite risky.

P.S. Forgot to add device specs. FP6 whit official /e/OS v.3.5

Hello @bruno30114

Is this still the case? It’s strange because on my side it’s never stopped working since I installed it on my FP6

Did you buy your FP6 or did you install it yourself?

Have a nice week-end,

Aude
