[LIST] Banking Apps on /e/OS

When one wants to Report an issue | /e/OS documentation notice the comment there to use an email ID derived from a murena.io account.

For your troublesome app maybe try to paste your log to a pastebin like

and link it here.

Thanks !

Here we are link

I also opened an issue on gitlab

I would guess but do not positively recognise that the null pointer dereference was due to Play Integrity.

If your device is bootloader locked, use of a masked Google account might help if PI is the cause as explained Apps with SMS Authetification will not work - #2 by tcecyk.

One can check the device’s Basic Play Integrity with the app gr.nikolasspyr.integritycheck

I’ve tested VDK’s app myself now and can confirm it functions properly on FP6 with e/OS 4.1.1

if it segfaults in native code I’d try older versions, maybe -6 months. I wonder if it’s a faulty split install. By the logcat it isn’t at all near playintegrity logic.

unfortunately I could not find older versions. Looks like those guys are cleaning up when releasing a new version.

only a suggestion if you’re into debugging. Aurora can take version ids (not straightforward though), or alternatively: it’s safe to use any apk mirrors if you get the apk signature from the currently installed (adb pull, then apksigner verify --verbose --print-certs) and compare with what you will install from a mirror.

Thanks for the suggestions. I’m not good enough in android world to dig into this issue unfortunately. I’ll let pro manage that

Banking apps typically require security by some means, worst case by blindly trusting Google. If you have an interest, did you achieve Basic Play Integrity?

Hi, same problem here !

4.2 factory reset, same message with microG frozen by shelter

Hi, Hide from apps is not working on a 4.2 for me (neither shelter)

For my local credit union, which uses the app made by Progress System, they released a major update of the app (full revamp of UI and features apparently). Except it does not work anymore. It displays now a message ā€˜Unable to verify device’. That’s a shame, not sure what can be done about it.

It has been reported, that Scalable Capital also works on /e/OS, but shows a warning:

Hello, a few points:

  1. I’m happy to report that the mobile netbanking app of the Banque Cantonale de GenĆØve (BCGE, Switzerland) works perfectly. In fact, I was told the Swiss Cantonal Banks all use the same underlying code, changing only logos and parts of the presentation.

  2. the Swiss app Crontosign, used to scan the particular QR codes necessary to log into the banks via laptops, also works perfectly.

  3. this page says at the top that it is editable, but I could not find a way to do that (in order to add the info of points 1 and 2).

  4. at the top, hovering over the number of revisions, a message pops up:

That is a purely American date/time format. It is now only used in the US. The UK uses 24hour time format and day-month-year, not month-day-year, as does everyone else. Please change the setting for date/time format display in the Wiki settings. Thank you.
