[LIST] Supported devices that will get A16 builds

Are there any news about officially supported devices / will more devices receive official status ?

Work is in progress on building A16 for official devices. Official status to more devices depends on availability of ROM maintainers.

Hi, completely new to the community, but just wanted to offer that I have a Pixel 8A that I keep as a backup/just in case phone (with Graphene, right now) that if you guys release the next one for, I’ll gladly try to install it and give it a run, if that would help.

Hello the pixel 8 pro husky will get the A16 too?

I didn’t see it on the second list.

I find quite strange that the pixel 9 pro get it and the 8th not…

Manoj will probably update the list today, but I just noticed Android 16 (community) is available now for the FAIRPHONE :four: and the FAIRPHONE :five:

Thanks @urs_lesse,
not available yet for the FP3 : /e/OS community FP3 download,
may be a indication that the 4.9 kernel can’t be supported by android 16 ?
and the FP3 ended with android 15 after only 7 years of life ?

It’s indeed possible that FP3 will not get it, but note that the FP6 (which we know will definitely get A16) has not got the upgrade yet either. So this alone is no certainty yet.

Thanks for pointing that out @urs_lesse . Have added the FP4 and FP5 to the list. These are community builds. These devices would get the official A16 builds once the development is done on them. No ETAs as yet.

Lineage has now support for A16 (LOS23.2) for the Samsung Galaxy A52s. Are there plans for /e/OS to support it too in the near future?

@Manoj, is this something you could ask the team for us?

I did a dirty upgrade through sideload from 12-13 without issues. I think I’m gonna try though local update for the A16 update

any update on this? Did you manage to do the dirty upgrade from A13 to A16?

@all”: do you see any issues with that? would it be better to do 13 to 14 to 15 to 16?

And how do I find out whether my Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 lite (SM-P610 / gta4xlwifi) is “on the latest Android 13 firmware” as requested by the A16 install instructions? Or would that be the case automatically if I have /e/ OS 3.0.4-t (i.e. A13), even if I went from stock A12 to /e/?

(I don’t remember exactly, unfortunately. I might have went stock-12 to /e/-12 to /e/-13)

Every couple of weeks we run a scan of latest devices which have been added to LOS’s supported list. We usually try to add most of the smartphones from that list. The A52s if supported will definitely be on the next set of builds supported by /e/OS.

Good to know. Thanks a lot to everybody in the team. I appreciate al the effort!

I can report a successful “dirty” /e/os upgrade, directly from A14 to A16 on a xiaomi device, done with adb sideloading. No Problems so far.

a16 is out : /e/OS community panther download

Thanks a lot! I had seen that, but I still was hesitant — Does that mean that I can ignore the request for the stock android firmware, if the firmware files are included in the /e/ zip file? And that it does not matter which android version you have before the dirty upgrade?

gta4xlwifi.zip include a “firmware” folder :
