Live calls in WA or telegram sound problem

Since the last update my WhatsApp or Telegram calls have no sound or distorted high pitch sound. They can hear me but I can t hear them.

Voice messages are normal.

I had to change the accesibity of volume as the side button does not function anymore but I do not think this has an influence.

Hi. Anyone else on FP4 A16 beta experiencing weird voices when making calls using either WhatsApp or Signal? The person calling sounds like Mickey Mouse or someone taking helium, really high pitch squeaking voice. I thought it was a windup at first but it is now affecting both my phone and my wife’s. Yes thank you, that is the thing: Fairphone 4 and Mikey mouse voice.

Wait for next release which will come with a fix. It looks like a bugfix release will be created shortly just for this issue:

Week 40, Development and Testing Updates

The FP4 v4.3 community and official builds have been rolled back. This is following the complaints of audio distortion in the release. Will update on the developer updates for this issue.

In the future, if you have issues after an update, I recommend checking and/or commenting on release feedback thread under build-feedback. Or if you check release’s thread before updating, you hear about problems others have run into and can make informed decision if you want to upgrade or not.
