Hi ! In the last few days, I’ve lost almost all my contacts. Only the last 15 remain.
I haven’t taken any particular action (installation or upgrade).
The same thing happened to my wife a few months ago.
We both have a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge hero2lte with /e/OS 1.17.1 Android 10.
I don’t know if it’s a hack, a /e/OS bug or a phone operator problem.
Have you ever encountered this problem?
Thanks for your help!
Hi !
Woke up this morning to the same issue.
This post suspects Signal’s synchronization might be the cause and I indeed used signal yestersay both on my cellphone and computer.
My setting :
/e/OS v. 1.19.1 on a Android 12
Samsung Galaxy S10e
The author of the previous post mentioned deactivating Signal’s contacts sync in e/OS/ settings so that’s why I did, hoping it will prevent future bugs.
Unfortunately, for me, the problem isn’t Signal because I don’t have this application.
Maybe I should try deleting all the access permissions to my contacts, but I don’t think that will bring them back.
If you have an idea how to get them back, that would save me ^^
are they synced with your Murena account ? or just locally stored ?
No I don’t have Murena account, all my contacts was stored locally.
But it’s a lucky day! I found an old vcf file in my phone!
So I recovered most of them, but I don’t know how I will do that without this file.
Even though I do have a Murena account which keeps a backup of my contacts I still rely on a .vcf file backed up to a PC with a regular backup method.
One can make an updated .vcf at intervals from Contacts > top left 3 bar menu > Settings > Export > Export to .vcf file.
Note also one can select (adjacent) Export vCard version (I use VCF 4.0).
