Magic Earth /Magic Lane

@Manoj is the name going to be “Atlas”? When its going to be ready for user testing? Gael said something like “in a few weeks”.

I have a name suggestion: Wouldnt be “earth” a great name with the “e” from /e/os or mur”e”na at the beginning  Something like attached :stuck_out_tongue:

 thanks for the icon and name suggestion. The final product when ready will be announced on this forum as on all other channels. We need to do some detailed testing and debugging of the code.

What about using Openstreet map in your browser?

And adding it to your home screen?

Hi all,

I realized today that live traffic stopped working without any notification. I think it is time for me to either go for the paid version or to swap to some other app. (Android Auto which is a pro feature as well still works. But I guess it is impossible to prevent me using it without updating Magic Earth.)

How OS version and MagicEarth version do you have?

E/OS 3.3-a15-20251210 official

Magic Earth is the version that has been pre-installed. It is version 7.1.25.34.36A60BB6.67629954 com.generalmagic.magicearth.

I cannot really check, I only realized that I happened to end up in a traffic jam. When scolling out and checking, I did not see any “red” roads on the map in today’s rush hour traffic.

No idea how you got a higher Magic Earth, could only imagine it with Aurora in usage…

Anyhow, traffic data still available for me.

Strange,

I have /e/OS 3.4-a15-20260116569565-community-pdx234

and Magic Earth 7.1.25.34.36A60BB6.67629954

No Aurora store and just did the OTA update, so this should be the version coming with /e/OS. The traffic info is working for me. But it seems I have to allow Magic Earth to use mobile data, even if Wifi is available.

Never mind. I did the map update and now it is back. Problem solved, traffic info is back.

Online-only map access is a disadvantage in many ways. For myself, even if the whole Google/privacy/security problem were not an issue for me at all, I would still strongly prefer to use a mapping app that downloads the maps to your local device.

The Internet is not always “on”, and I still want to know where I’m going.

I’ve gotten stuck with the latest version of Magic Earth (7.1.25.51.etc). Is there any way to manually roll back to the 7.1.25.34 version in the App Lounge?

I am switching over to CoMaps, but until I figure out how to get my ME Favorites/Bookmarks moved into CoMaps, I’m also still using ME.

Danke

Please elaborate what that actually means? Behaviour wise…
