Message app uses 12h instead of system setting 24h clock

For some reason the message app uses AM/PM instead of the 24h clock, even though the system is configured for this.
I see someone else had the same problem, but no replies?

24-hour Formatting AM/PM Message App

Hello! I am a new e/OS user. I am running a Fairphone 6 and successfully installed e/OS on it 2 weeks ago. I am very happy with my experience so far. The only thing that is bugging me is that I have selected “Use 24-hour format” under Settings/System/Date and Time/ and my system language is set as English (Sweden). In my Messages application I see the message timestamp as 18:11 pm or 11:11 am. Is there any way I can remove the AM/PM to my timestamps?

Any suggestions?

Same on OnePlus Nord (avicii).
But it seems there is a mix-up of the formats: The hours are displayed correctly in the 24-hours format, but an additional ‘AM’ or ‘PM’ is appended:

No idea where to report it in Gitlab, so assistance is much appreciated..
