Miracast does work on Fairphone 5 with A15

,

Continuing the discussion from Miracast does not work on FP4 any more:

Now I was able to test a FP5 about Miracast screen casting and I was happy it works. It only was necessary to activate the wireless transmission in the casting settings, but then it worked out of the box.

I am hopefully looking forward to A15 on the FP4 !

great feedback, the forum could use more of it on Miracast where things were successful.

device and version, possibly the type of remote device where things worked.

I’ve had my phone for a year now, and this is still not working for me. I get the same error message mentioned in the original post.

It doesn’t matter how many settings I tweak, it just breaks.

What is A15?

A15 means Android 15.

Of course! To be fair, I haven’t upgraded yet, so will give it a go.

I don’t often need to cast, but it’s fun to look at photos on my phone on the big tv!

Can confirm it wasn’t working on 3.1 eOS, but works fine on 3.2! Yay.

did you upgrade to a higher Android major (as in A14->A15) at the same time or was this in the same major? Your device is a FP5 ?

I got my FP5 phone in 2025, which I think means it came with A15 (although I’m not 100% sure what version it was). I have not directly updated the android version since I’ve had the phone, I only updated the e/os version through the option on the phone.

However, I’m not sure on the difference or connection between android and e/os so not sure whether one affects the other.
