Scenario:
I have a newly acquired FP6 with pre-installed /e/OS on it. I have two phone numbers, a pre-paid SIM of the country I live in and an e-sim of the country I emigrated from. They are both in the European Union, so I normally use the e-sim’s internet mobile data as it is cheaper. As such, the e-sim is set to roaming.
Problem:
Something very peculiar happens which prevents me from using my mobile data. When I am only on mobile data, I get some exclamation marks put on both of my signal trackers in the top right side of the screen. However, I can call, text on WhatsApp or Signal, view my mails. I can even use the Murena Browser, although I have the header with “No Internet Connection”. What I cannot do is that I cannot use any internet banking apps, any public transport apps, or any other browsers. The 5G symbol also shows up when the internet is supposedly not working.
When I connect to Wi-fi the exclamation marks disappears from the signal trackers, but then of course I am using wi-fi not data. I have not tinkered with any settings.
Has anyone encountered something like this before? It is very frustrating. I was going to top-up my prepaid to have internet but I am worried that won’t work either. Thank you!
