There are no custom ROMs. It only has official Android 15, nothing else.

Issues:
- The microphone has sensitivity issues; the volume is low (it has two microphones: the standard one for calls and videos, which is the one with low volume, and a special one that activates with the camera zoom during video recordings).
- When the phone reaches a certain workload (normal daily usage), applications stop and freeze for brief moments, leading to a system notification that says: “App has stopped.” Even when selecting “cancel” instead of “close app,” the notification keeps popping up until the app is finally closed.
- Processor throttling/power issues when the device heats up. (Or: Performance issues related to device overheating).
- Although Android 15 features a transparent notification bar, it is not present in the official ROM; it retains the aesthetic of A14 and A13
- The home screen customization interface (widgets, themes, colors, etc.) is somewhat messy/clunky.
“The Motorola Edge 40 offers decent performance at a competitive price point. It would be highly beneficial for the e/OS project to tackle a device featuring a MediaTek processor, as this platform currently lacks broad alternative OS support. Given that there is practically no other alternative OS available for this device, e/OS would be the first.”
