As for map download options, I hope the ability to choose countries/regions directions will be added. I find that much more useful than downloading the “viewport”.

It might be that the general info on their (far from perfect) website has not been updated - I will be able to tell when the handset eventually arrives… seems to be stuck with UPS on its way.
I’ve had the app installed for a few months now so these comments are based on more than an initial reaction.
I appreciate that the intention is to build a new app, but as a user I’m inevitably looking at how, in use, it compares to the existing installed Maps app, Magic Earth. Here, I feel that the comparison is currently not very favourable. I want this new app to succeed, I apologise that my comments may sound a bit negative but they are genuinely intended to help improvement.
A few examples of where I feel the app could be improved and some further comments.
- The tabs / menus take up way too much space, obscuring the map, and appear not to be able to be hidden. Sometimes I need to just explore the map and these get in the way, for example:
a) the search tab, in portrait mode, takes up more than 25% of the screen. In landscape mode it’s more than 60% of the screen, meaning there it’s not really possible to explore the map at all.
b) the directions tab cannot be reduced to less than 45% of the screen. I need to be able to examine the map to see the detail of the routes offered; this is not helped by having the lower half of the screen occupied by little more than starting / end point boxes and a load of blank space.

Saved places are listed in unnecessarily large boxes meaning only a few appear at a time on the screen, requiring more scrolling than necessary with large lists.

Intermediate waypoints - I’ve not been able to find a way to add these.

Routes cannot be saved. One of the great features of Magic Earth is that I can plan routes in advance, enabling me to see timings and determine when I will need to set off. Then, later, I can just select the route from the history to start navigation, rather than set up the whole route again.

The timings shown for routes are hopelessly optimistic. For example, one journey I make regularly takes 1 hour. The app says it will take 40 mins. (Magic Earth has always been very good at timings.)

The ability to use the app offline is very welcome, but the downloading of maps feels a bit clunky. Downloading the screen area involves a bit of guesswork when the lower 25% of the screen is covered by a menu. Whilst the flexibilty to download just selected areas is interesting, downloading of whole countries / states / etc would be more practical for users wishing to use the app offline.
Hopefully this new app will get there, but at the moment it still feels quite a way off from something I would choose to regularly use.

Please include “zoom to next maneuver”. There is no need to zoom more in than to next turn.
And landscape mode for car users.

I also couldn’t use the links to get Obtainium. Once I’ve figured out how to get it, the link to add maps didn’t work either (in FF), once I opened it in the installed browser on the FP6 it worked though!
Looks great. I’ve some feedback on the walking instructions though. It seems like it is using driving instructions for walking, which isn’t great.
For example, the top of my road is blocked off for cars, but is passable for walking, bikes, motorcycles. If you navigate from my house with walking to a bus stop beyond this point, on the default maps app, google maps, etc they walk you up through the car blockage to the stop. If you use the Murena maps, it follows the car route, added a significant diversion. I can DM screenshots if it’s useful

Will or does the app have the possibility to report things while being on the road?
Dangerous situations, traffic cams, traffic jams, etc.
Comparable like with the current Maps app in /e/OS or Waze or TomTom?

Will it be compatible with Android Auto in the future? I wanted to test it on Android Auto today, but it doesn’t even show up.

Is there any eOS prerequisite? Do I have to be at eOS a16v4.0 for example or will a15 builds work?

Installed today on FP6 /e/OS/ 3.7.3 (A15) from Github source.
Works fine even if not tested in real situation.

I need to be able to specify my maximum vehicle speed before this will replace OSM for me.
The lines giving route option choices are a bit thick, in walking mode they cover too much of the map.
Interesting app and a nice way of bringing it to it’s first official version.
‘Saved Places’ suggested improvements:
Include saved places in search results to aid route building.
Add ability to export / import all saved places / all those in a list (for backup / sharing).
- SherpaTTS can replace the pico voice in /e/OS. It’s pretty good for regular text. For navigation you have to pick a model that is good with reciting numbers and apparently enable the “strip SSML” option in its settings (xml markup that otherwise would be spoken): TTS Text-To-Speech FP6 Murena HereWeGo SherpasTTS Ansagen sind nicht verwendbar

Two suggestions:
- Please show icons for shops, toilets and parkingspaces and more like openstreetmap does.
Now its written out which makes it more difficult to find the different places in a crowded area.
- Speedtraps toggle to enable or disable thema (opt-IN).
If possible also add an more human voice engine like in Magic Earth including Dutch.

I agree with some of the previous remarks :
- Need to make the button “start navigaton” directly visible after having selected a direction. Moreover, I think that after selecting “direction", the user should also directly see the infos about the potential trip (distance, time it will take, etc)
- Need for intermediates points when calculating a trip
- Need for a smaller or more compact infos tab (it takes a bit too much place)
- Add an icon to the POI. It’s confusing.
Other ideas or recommendation:
- At first I was a bit confused about two zoom button “+" and “-". Then I figure out that the options allow to make them disappear. I don’t think a lot of person would use this two button… maybe a better idea to have a first config menu when first opening the app to ask for some UI modification like these two buttons…
- Use the wikidata code in OSM to integrate pictures of places and Wikipedia pages maybe.
- For POIs add the “check date” or “modification date" for the POI in itself and for the opening hours. OSM is not always up to date. So it would be nice to know when it was lastly modified.
- Compared to other app using directly OSM (not via a download) I get the impression that the map is not quite recent. What is the update rate of the map?
- Add the ability to search for categories such as “restaurant" for exemple.
- Would be nice also to have a ways to open Google link (or links from other app) directly with muran maps. That’s something very frustrating when communicating with people.
- (Not a priority) add the possibility of modifying the POIs on the map (via an OSM account)
Otherwise, for a beta, the result is stunning! Good job! (I should maybe have start with that 
)

I really like the 3D buildings that were recently introduced to Osmand. So at some point it would be great to have the same feature in Murena Maps
