Murena Volla tablet, is it really worth its price?

Hi,

I was contemplating the possibility of buying a Murena tablet but its price is prohibiting in my opinion (698,00€ as of today). Anyone knows how such a high price justifies?

And, to anyone using it: is it worth it?

Thank you for your answers.

I looked the volla tablet too and definitely think the price is excessive. I don’t really need another tablet as I am happy with my e/os Google Pixel. I can’t remember exactly but, I think it was about 150 Euros cheaper than the volla when I bought it, about 1 year ago. If I was tempted by a new tablet, as a “nice to have”, it would need to be much cheaper than this one, and need to have some really good benefits over my existing one.

It looks like the volla tablet is the replacement for the pixel, as the pixel tablet is no longer listed as for sale in the shop. So, currently, the volla is the only choice for people who don’t want to self install an older tablet.

Have a look on Galaxy Tab s2 price to compare…

It seems to be no longer available.
The S11 is above 1 000,00€ which is outrageous. Are there organisations that actually take a look inside these products and make sure that the price is fair?
Money ruling, I guess nobody wants to know…

be carefull about all existing variants,

ask for model number..

Hello

ift I have the Volla tablet and would like to share my experience.

As piero pointed out, Samsung tablets are expensive as well, even more than the Volla tablet. I that large screen tablets are just generally expensive. The Volla tablet also has a big hard drive (512 gb).

However, is it worth its price? This is the first tablet I own, so I don’t have a lot to compare with. But honestly, I don’t think it’s better than other tablets, so if that’s what you’re after then the answer is no. Like all e/os products, you buy it to avoid the big tech companies. It was a plus for me that e/os was pre-installed since I figured that would mean it would funcction well.

Generally, I’ve been satisfied with the tablet itself. A disadvantage that I didn’t realise before I bought it is that it doesn’t have a finger print reader. I imagine all other modern tablets have that. Also, there are some issues with showing the screen horizontally. For example, some apps only show vertically. The vibration on the tablet is also a bit strange, it is much to aggresive to turn on the vibration feedback when writing on the on-screen keyboard. Writing on this is not very easy or fast, but I guess that’s just the way it is on all tablets of this size.’

In fact, I’ve recently bought the official Volla attachable keyboard, because I wanted to use it as a laptop for writing. Unfortunately, this has so far been a dissapointment. Im typing this reply on it, but I make alot of typos. For some reason it very often writes two letters when I want to write only one (like tthis). Maybe it will improve when I get more used to using it, but so far i’m not very impressed. I don’t know iff its possible to get another keyboard to work with this tabblet.

Also, i’m hhaving problems with uploading to the Nextcloud app, whicch is a probblem for me, since I got the tablet to be able to edit documents both oon the go and on my stationary computer at home. But this is of course not related to the tablet it self.

Furthermore, I wanted to have a light weight and easily portable setup, but with the keybboard, the total weight is about 1.3 kilos. I could have got a 14" laptop from Tuxedo computers ffor the same price andd with the same weight. That would perhaps havve bbeen a better option ffor me… But at least, I have the option to detach the keyboard and use it as a normal tablet, which is of course nice ffor some things, like looking at photos or watching videos.

Hope this was at least a little bit useful. I hope Murena does more in the future tto improve the experience of using e/os on a tablet.

Best regards

Olav

Yes, it is. I made up my mind: this tablet is definitely not worth the price especially now that I know avoiding the big tech companies is just a dream. To do that you would have to live under a rock and in the margins of the society.
Don’t misunderstand me, e/ os is a great effort to at least avoid the most intrusive endeavours to own us the GAFAM put up and I’m happy with my Murena phone but that’s it.
Thanks for your feedback! :slightly_smiling_face:

I had been quite happy with my e/os Google Pixel but, then I wanted to be able to write notes on it, which you can do with most tablets. I have been unable to find a stylus that would work on it. That has been a disappointment. I looked at other options and have ended up ordering a 12 inch touch screen framework laptop which with have many other uses. But, I think the phones are far better supported than the e/os tablets. Perhaps not as many people buy them?
