When using the Music app on my Google Pixel 7, occasionally (either about once every 10 songs or after a single song plays for over about 5 minutes), it mutes the sound when it starts playing the next song. Pressing the back button to start the song over will have it play normally again, until a few songs later when it mutes again. I saw there was another thread about this issue that is some time old but did not get much response, so I thought I would bring the issue up again to see if anyone else is still having this issue. It’s not a major problem but still a minor annoyance when I’m listening at work, for example, and have to pull out my phone every so often to press the back button to make it play again. I can’t seem to get through a full album without this happening. Any help you can provide would be appreciated. Thanks!
I tested it, the problem is not limited to Bluetooth connections. Other music apps don’t have this issue. It does appear to be connected to either the number or length of songs.
My experience is similar, but not the same (and doesn’t match the linked GitLab issue above). For my Pixel 6, the music app moves to the next song and acts like it is playing, but is silent. Bluetooth being in use or not makes no difference for me.
For me, this behavior is repeatable and is on every single song. Skipping forward or backward makes the song you land on play normally, but as soon as it reaches the end, the next song is silent again.
