My FP3 is on e/OS 2.9-t-20250321478215-official-FP3: is this the latest stable update for FP3?

Hello e/OS Team!

My FP3 is currently on e/OS 2.9-t-20250321478215-official-FP3.
Looking at all previous updates I got, I received so far one every month.
So that one is from 21st March and looks like there’s not been any update in April.
Or my phone did not receive the April one?
Even doing a refresh on “Updater” app, it tells me: “No new updates found”.

  1. Has there been any update in April for this e/OS 2.9?
  2. Or are the updates for that, on FP3, finished AND I need to update to a newer version?
  3. Or, simply, is this the latest stable version for FP3 (e/OS 2.9-t-20250321478215-official-FP3) and I just need to wait for the next one?
  4. Will Android 14 be installed automatically (via an OTA update) or will I need to install a different version for that, manually?

Also, looking here /e/OS dev FP3 download, seems like there’s an Android 14 version available for FP3:
IMG-e-2.9-a14-20250323478432-community-FP3.zip

But, if I understand that correctly, that’s a development build/update and not an official one, right?

Sorry if some of these questions are very basic, but I’m just trying to understand a bit more.
Thanks a lot.

No … https://images.ecloud.global/official/FP3/

No, not for build type official (ex stable) currently.

Yes …

As it’s a bigger development step than usual, going from 2.x to 3.x, we can perhaps attribute a certain delay to that.

Status as of now …

To distinguish between the continued regular OTA updates within the same Android version and updates including a new underlying Android version, the latter are called OTA upgrades.
They need to be specially prepared by the developers per device per upgrade step, and this will take additional time even after manual install would be available somewhen.

It’s official in the sense that it’s done by /e/OS developers on the /e/OS build infrastructure, but it is not called “official” for reasons … Different Build Types.
And switching between those two build types is a new install, wiping user data.

Hello e/OS Team!

My FP3 is currently on e/OS 2.9-t-20250321478215-official-FP3.
I’m having problems with more than one app. Not solved by restart, no problem at Release 2.7, but after 2.8 I couldn’t read my SD-Card, which wasn’t acceptable.
I’ve copied the davx5-debug.zip onto my PC but can’t upload it here.
If you would be so kind and give me an e-mail destination, I’ll send you th zip.
Many thanks!

Did you unzip it? If it has information on which you think volunteers here might offer any insight you could upload the unzipped contents to a pastebin such as https://paste.tchncs.de/ or you might consider to Report an issue if you would prefer to address the /e/OS dev team. Please take time to read how to proceed if your email seems rejected at first.

Is the card mounted as External / Portable

  • if yes, can you read the card on a PC
  • if no, Adopted storage is not recommended

Hall Ian,

I’ve copied the contents of the two files of davx5-debug into
https://paste.tchncs.de/, I haven’t yet found how to report an issue as
described.

I’ll visit the topic later.

Meanwhile I can read the card, both on my PC and on the Phone (after
restart w/o card) so my only problem is the dumps with davx5.

I include a screenshot of the message o my FP3.

Thanks for support.

Your paste url seems not to contain your content! When you copy and paste your content, then Save, maybe a time lapse then returns a “new” url in the format

https://paste.tchncs.de/upload/rat-cat-pony

this is the one to share here.

Did you have one only of these incidents?

Hallo Ian,

I’ve uploaded three items, separately, davex-debug.zip, debug-info.txt &
logcat.txt

  • hope this works this time!

These incidents happen very frequently, I can drop them on FP3 with the
righthand softkey (square) and get on with other things. I can’t say
when it’ll happen, but I’ll be very happy to do without!

If you want another dump for comparison, it should be no problem.

Hi Steven,

Sorry there is nothing to read!

The way that a pastebin works is that you upload your content onto a blank page. You have to select the length of time the content should be saved, the press Save.

The content is saved onto the remote server and you are given the url of the stored page. “Copy url”.

Now you have to share that url with anyone you hope will read it. That is you must paste the active url in the forum like this https://paste.tchncs.de/upload/rat-cat-pony (this is just a made up dead link)
