Hi! I installed E/os and imported my google contacts etc but almost none of my contacts are findable in phone book, meaning that callers show up as random numbers in the phone, and that I can only search contacts within apps like telegram or whatsapp. How to fix it?
How did you do the import? One option might be to export your contacts to a vcf file, which can easily be imported in the contacts app.
Do what @helicase said *.vcf is universal.
Thanks, but I already did this. Now I have all my contacts 3 times in contacts, but when I search for them, they don’t show up. I think the contacts app in murena is broken somehow.
Also less important but still important; I added my google account but it doesn’t show agenda items… what to do?
The following snippet is from a thread on the subject of contacts which may be worth reading.
As a starting point for your issue … this on the phone, perhaps is to check if your contacts did import and if so where did they go? … by checking
For better help you really need to describe what you actually did / tried already.
A second thing to consider is that there are reports on the forum of some systems producing a .vcf which is not in a version supported. Expected supported versions are 2.1, 3.0 and 4.0.
Two further solutions FP6 + /e/OS 3.6 Contacts app failing to import vcf
What I did was use the sync google prompt when first using the phone, then making a vcf , importing it, and now finally when i went to contacts.google.com and made a vcf there it worked. But now, how to make Murena understand that the different databases are one? because contacts are in there 2-4 times now… And also when I press them it doesn’t show the option to reach out via telegram/signal but just starts a call, which is undesirable, as no other options show up, I have to make detours to contact them in the way I want. Any ideas?
