Individualist liberty is lost to government control one baby step at a time until its all gone and you have an authoritarian communist or fascist state. BUT its all for the greater good… 
Correct me if I’m wrong, but the most important concern comes not from the device-makers’ side, but from the chip-makers’ side, because encryption in modern devices heavily relies on hardware part, and if the major US-based SoC developer would follow such a law, it would be like Meltdown/Spectre, but leaved on purpose.
