No longer hearing sound for successful mail sound

Even though it is check marked it is not happening. Does this occur because mic and camera privaxy switch is on?

What is a “successful mail sound”?

A successful Mail sent sound is like a rather noisy “Swoosh” on my FP3 until switched off, edit, within the app.

The question is “mail sent” or “mail received”.

It is on send, forgot to specify, my bad.

An additional question is also: is it only mail or are other notification sounds also affected?

At least the FP3 had a bug for years. Two years ago I made an issue for that, notification sounds get inaudible after some days of use, Has never been of any interest. I still had it on the last version on a13, now on a15 I’m not sure.

I would guess that the sound is built into the app, I do not see any “Swoosh” sound in mention in Notifications.

So I would further guess the app “assumes” permission to the speaker.

This could possibly be involved if that switch also “assumes” control of the speaker.

No idea as that is why I asked the question.

Didn’t you test it with mic/cam unblocked to see if any change? I would.

Also what @aibd says makes sense as my yahoo email plays it’s own email received sound which may be stored in data folder for that app where proton email app uses the standard one, the same as incoming text message. It could be worth it exploring email app settings if you haven’t yet?

Personally I don’t use email sent sound and never heard one on my phone…

I actually think I found the issue today.

The hidden bars only reveal if press on the arrow of main volume. The second bar from the left was muted. Yet to test.

Just to state just sent an email and it is back.
What I have noticed is that if the main volume has been muted it sometimes also mutes notification volume which is hidden!
