Regain your privacy! Adopt /e/OS the deGoogled mobile OS and online services
Hi everyone,
so I bought the Fairphone 6 a month ago and was eager to get /e/OS. In some guide it said it is best to update the stock Android to the newest version to make unlocking the bootloader easier, which I did.
Then I found out the latest stock security patch is a few days old and the /e/OS patch a few more days older, which made it impossible to relock the bootloader safely. So, after waiting two weeks I decided to install /e/OS anyways without locking the bootloader and hopefully lock it later.
Then I found out I had to install all my previous apps one by one (64 in total) and started copying at least some of the data.
Then I read somewhere that locking your bootloader will wipe your phone which is pretty annoying given the fact that I already invested time to install the apps, but anyways.
So instead of migrating, I waited for the next /e/OS update which, according to some forum post, arrived a week ago with a staggered release. So every day I turned on the phone, checked for updates, nope no update, deleted the data of the updater application and tried again just to be sure.
Now the staggered release was said to be finalized on the 27., 3 days ago. I just came back from a work trip and tried finding the update but nope, no update.
Then I tried finding files for a manual update but it seems they are not yet uploaded to web. It pretty hard to find too.
Please tell me, am I missing something? Can someone upload the new patch for people to manually install the update?
TLDR; Installed /e/OS on new Fairphone 6, OTA update not found, security patch too old, want to relock bootloader but can’t. Without relocking I won’t be using my phone since the locking process wipes all data and I want to do it before. Can someone upload the new patch for people to manually install the update pls?
