Not possible to take photos + All photos were deleted

Since this morning I cannot take a photo anymore on my Murena 2, I have a message : “unable to save photo”, and all my previous photos taken since 2 months now have dissapeared. Is there a fix and how to retrieve my photos as the memory seems empty of them ?

I was able to take photos and save them with Open Camera an app. downloaded from FDroid. I reset the e/os camera and it works again. So now 2 questions:

1/How can I retrieve my pictures and why they were deleted ?
2/ How far can I trust on this app to take and save my photos without problems ?

Regain your privacy! Adopt /e/OS the deGoogled mobile OS and online servicesphone

with the capture of photos solved (was it a settings or space issue?) -

photos disappeared as in: you navigate with the File app into the “DCIM → Camera” Folder and it hasn’t got your old photos?

if you do not have any upload to cloud configured I’d think they’re gone, but nothing in your description hints at what the reasons could be.

And this is the problem, I used my phone as usual, consulting news, making pictures, having calls etc. Then I stopped it the good way, and the next morning I was unable to take a picture anymore and all my pictures taken where gone ( I only have 25/30 photos taken so no space problem - if a method exist to get them back I will take it) . I just reset the photo app to get it back to work but not sure If I will use it anymore. I think that there is unfortunately no way to get back my pictures (I will make more frequen back-up) but I really want to know if this issue will come back or not, as previously, it happened to others too sa I could read in the forum. Is there a fix ?

I’ve only read of sudden files loss when:

  • users accidentally deleted files, with there being no “Trash” implementation in Files or standard Gallery App
  • Camera stores Photos on internal sdcard (you’d need to set that folder manually though) that is flakey and wants do be reformatted
