During installation on OnePlus3T, TWRP returns “error 7”, which can be resolved by following the instructions described here https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2522762 however, post update the device reboots into TWRP with the same error. Updates can only be installed by manually downloading and modifying the .zip file as described above.
You are getting error 7 because of missing vendor files. You have to go back to stock rom. Than from stock rom you can go back to e without error 7
As we discussed in the Telegram group a while ago now, this fixed installation problems. Thanks for your assistance.
Hello,
still having the same issue. What i did:
- install adb / fastboot / trwp
- installing stock ROM, until the end of the process
- re-enabling USB parameters
- running TRWP
- trying to install /e/ (same issue by installing from sdcard or by adb sideload)
error message:
Updater process ended with ERROR: 7
Could you help me please?
Hello, welcome in the forum
If you are using TWRP 3.4.0, try with TWRP 3.3.1 instead.
Hello,
thank you for your welcoming, and your proposition.
I’ve tried with TWRP 3.3.1, abd still having the same error message:
Can't install this package on top of incompatible data. Please try another package or run a factory reset.
Updater process ended with ERROR: 7
i don’t find anything in the updater-script file which could cause this problem…
If there is no data to keep, try to go into Wipe > Format Data > yes.
And retry. If it still doesn’t work, I will suggest something else.
