Oneplus nord CE 3lite 5g installation problem

Hello,

I used e-os successfully on oneplus 6 and motorola edge 30. Now I bought oneplus nord ce 3 lite 5g as it was listed as supported device. Unfortunatelly instalation. files seems to be incomplete. In dowloads section i cant’t see zip with boot.img, dtbo.img and vbmeta.img. first i tried to install without them but almost bricked device- boot was corrupted but fastboot was working. I tried to install newest lineage OS - successfully. I hoped on this base I can simply replace lineage by e-os using adb sideload but it failed on signature verification. Then i tried to replace only recocery by e-os one on vendor_boot partition. It corrupted boot again.

Did anyone install e-os successfully on this device or at least know where proper img files can be downloaded? They are missing in instruction site or instruction is not proper.

Oscarro files look to be complete not like larry files i need.

i tried them and 3 partitions seems to be written ok but writting vendor_boot using recovery img for larry or oscarro ends with booting into screen with message about destroyed boot/recovery image:(

I am so sorry to pick the wrong device.

So now I see that you are quite correct and the packaging has not been done for larry.

When this happens and “borrow from LineageOS” does not seem to work we can extract the secondary partitions from the main downloaded /e/OS ROM. [Walkthrough] Extract eRecovery and boot images using payload-dumper-go.

I tried Walkthrough from provided link but there is a problem at early stage - https://images.ecloud.global/ gives not found error.

Are ROMs located elsewhere nowadays?

I managed to get images and even tried to adb sideload but I got error message about product mismatch. Now device is again almost bricked (fastboot still alive).

It seems I bought some very strange version of nord CE 3 lite:(

Name on the box was ok. on standard operating system in about phone also..

but in fastboot mode I see product name is “holi” not larry! :frowning:

Any chance to modify images to work with this strange holi version?

Writing fastboot with “larry” identity is probably not achievable for us?

Fastboot screen can give a different (and not relevant) codename

What is your device product codename ?

I have no access to a PC to check possible other variants Supported devices - Google Play Help - Google Support

But on Info about OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite 5G - larry
Both CPH2467 and CPH2465 are expected to be supported

To restore adb I had to install lineage OS for larry - again without any troubles.

Product code from adb is OP5958L1.

From the Google Supported devices list:

The change from LineageOS (if lineage-23.2-20260711-nightly-larry-signed.zip Android SPL July 2026) may be seen as a downgrade at this time, although you do not report that error.

You’re probably right.

I tried to install lineage OS to 23.0 but it’s blocked as a downgrade.

So the only way now is to wait for newer version of e-OS to avoid downgrade problems?

Interesting that you saw that, but was not reported for /e/OS.

I am not fully informed on a16. Where Lineage moves to 23.2, am am not sure /e/OS follows (or how much it matters). This may need further research.

Probably worth another try when /e/OS has declared SPL of July or August. Exists also Lineage4microG.

In order for others to help maybe next time save and quote actual traces from terminal.

I tried it. at the beginning I couldn’t install it because of downgrade. but later i played a bit with fastboot wipe_super super_empty.img and with some error about missing recovery partition i managed to run microG version and later last e-OS for larry.

Unfortunatelly it wasn’t probably fully succesfull because AppLounge can’t install anyhing - searching works fine but installation of any app stops on 0%.

Quite strange but maybe it’s because of bad partitions after such tricky installation? loging out and clearing applounge storage didn’t help.

It is often reported, try to clear the app cache in android settings → apps
otherwise usual workaround is to use F-droid and AuroraStore

Good to hear the install succeeded.

Very often the “Log out and Clear storage” only works after including “Try later” like 2 to 12 hours later.

app-lounge threads suggest that App Lounge is currently “having issues” with the remote server.

Probably there were some temporary issues yesterday.

After some time Applounge started to work normally.
