Onn Tablet devices - /e/os entry for North America

In the USA and Canada, you can find some devices branded Onn, a brand from the Walmart stores. Those are low-cost but simple Google embedded devices. The thing is that Onn lets you install what you want and gives you more freedom than other devices like Pixel or Samsung. Making it compatible with /e/OS would make it more accessible for low-budget and over-the-Atlantic tech people.

Usually these cheap devices have Mediatek chips in it. From what I have heard Mediatek is difficult to to create customRoms for it. There are exceptions like Murena one and two. But I guess this was because they were vendor of it. If they start a partnership with that vendor it might happen but don’t get your hopes high.

there is a Lineage build for one of the Android TV sticks under the Onn brand (Amlogic).

If a build repo turns up at xda there’s a path for a dedicated /e/OS build.

In any case, GSIs are imo an easy choice for newly released devices, here are some endorsements
