I know theres already a thread about this (Aggressively vivid colors CMF Phone 1 - #11) but its closed from months ago and was wondering if theres been any fixes? Is there a way to adjust display gamma/saturation in e/os?
I was able to fix this following a workaround found on the open Gitlab issue referenced in the post you referenced.
Here’s how I did it:
- Enable Developer Options
- In developer options turn on
USB Debugging - Also turn on
Rooted debugging - Connect your phone to a computer with ADB installed
- From a terminal run
adb root - From a terminal run
adb shell service call SurfaceFlinger 1022 f 0.8 - After confirming the colours are right, disable
USB DebuggingandRooted debugging. - Disconnect phone
Note: if you go and change the display colours to Natural / Boost / Adaptive, it will override the custom gamma set above and you’ll need to perform these steps again.
Also, restarting the phone will reset the color gamma setting unfortunately.

Hi,
Thanks for the tip, it really improves the visual experience!
I hope this issue will be fixed in a future update. Like the sensor that only works at 12 MP.

I use Termux and wireless debugging. Just pair the first time and after that connect to wifi and easly use adb command to configure saturation everytime you restart the phone. no need to connect to computer. by the way 0.75 level suits me better.
Hi,
Does anybody know if this problem is systematic on every install or only few devices are concerned. I saw there is a bug report about it. Do de have visibility on when the bug will ne fixed?
In the mean time i’ll postpone m’y install.
Best,
V
Hi
Don’t know if it’s systematic but the bug is still here for month. Apparently it’s not fixed cause proprietary drivers if don’t make mistake (i read this in another post).
The solution with Adb works well but needed to be use everytime your restart your phone
Best regards
I found out that playing with the color correction settings in the accessibility settings helped me to bear with this better. For instance chosing Deuteranomaly and setting intensity to 0 is already making a difference to me, and values ranging between 10% and 20% are feeling even more natural to my eye.
