Parental Control not working since v3.7 or v3.6

Dear all,

I face the problem on an Galaxy S9 and S10+.

I can go normally through the whole parental control config process but after typing the second time the password or PIN and confirming, the toggle slider of parental control itself always remains in the disabled position.

Please help!

if the phone is still mostly in a vanilla state, you could try a device reset and setup it up again.

There’s a forum subtag for parental controls but I didn’t find the issue you describe there (or in the backlog) - Topics tagged parental-controls

(Make sure to note down the PIN elsewhere, it’s a source of issue when forgotten).

I need urgent help! Otherwise, my whole system of kids operated phones must be replaced and I really want to use e/OS for it.
0. Is this the right category of threads here?

  1. How could I search for bugs or contribute in another sens?
  2. Are there any hidden preferences/configs one could edit?
  3. Anyone else experiencing same behavior?

a logcat of the moment you try to switch can give a hint why it is that it cannot be enabled.
Depending if you do similar often this is familiar or a bit of an effort.

As said, a bug report goes at best to the backlog in gitlab (posted earlier). Forum can only help if a workaround is already known. Things like being able to reproduce a behaviour or a log help in pinning things down.
