Phone automatically answers calls when on bluetooth

Hi,
I have a Fairphone 6 with /e/OS.
When my phone is connected to a bluetooth device, and someone calls me, the phone automatically answers the call after a couple of seconds.
This caused me problems several times with the phone answering the call when I didn’t want to answer.
I searched the accessibility settings for an option to disable this, but didn’t find any.
Where can I disable this feature?
Many thanks in advance for your help.
Best,
Thibaut

Cool, what does it say?

I wasn’t very clear, English is not my first language.

The phone automatically accepts the call. It doesn’t say anything. I need to talk to the person who called me even though I never meant to accept the call.

For example it happened while I was in my car with my phone connected to bluetooth, someone called and I didn’t want to pick up the phone because I was driving: phone accepted the call all by itself.

Another time someone from work called while I was on vacation listening to music on some bluetooth device: phone picked up the call all by itself.

Is this any Bluetooth device or a specific device.

A forum :magnifying_glass_tilted_left: Search finds several hits for #fp6 + #bluetooth

This is any bluetooth device

None of these posts describes my issue.

@thibautv Check if on Fairphone 6 any of these might apply? On my Gigaset GS6 Pro I have no options like mentioned here but it could be different for other handsets:

“To turn off auto answer on Bluetooth, navigate to your phone’s settings, usually under “Accessibility” or “Call settings”, then find the option related to “Auto-Answer Calls” when connected to a Bluetooth device and toggle it off; the exact path may vary slightly depending on your phone model.”

P.S. maybe check fairphone forum or raise a ticket with FP support (if they respond at all…).

Another reason why your Android phone might answer calls automatically is if it’s connected to a Bluetooth earphone or a smartwatch. To avoid this, it’s best to disconnect Bluetooth devices that you’re not using.

Well, this one is not very helpful:

Sometimes, the Phone app on your Android or iPhone may have a bug causing it to auto-answer calls. Updating the app to the latest version can often resolve such issues.

P.S. Raise a ticket with Murena Support?

Finally: have you checked for particular options in regards to connected Bluetooth devices - especially when they are connected?

On my Gigaset GS6 Pro I have no options like mentioned here

Same on the FP6.

Raise a ticket with Murena Support?

To my understanding Murena Support is moderating this forum.

There is a “Phone calls” option available per connected Bluetooth device, which can be toggled off. But altogether disabling phone calls through the bluetooth device is not what I want. What I want is to be able to have phone calls through the bluetooth device, without calls being automatically accepted.

It is not the same.

If you raise a ticket through “contact us” form, detailing your device details and what your problem is they will look into it and come back with an answer (whatever the case is) specifically addressing your issue.

The form is at the bottom of the page.

Hi @thibautv if the phone was purchased from the Murena store you can raise the issue by using the form on Contact Us if not already done. The team would be able to help you further.

Thank you, I bought the phone through the Fairphone store, I’ll file a ticket there

Fairphone are not quick to answer.

If I were you, I’d log a ticket with Murena as it’s a software issue IMO, and they are pretty good answering tickets.

P.S. And I won’t be surprised if fairphone direct you to murena re OS query.
